University of Waterloo

At Waterloo, we’re committed to free inquiry and vigorous scholarship in the search for new knowledge. Our dynamic professors are helping to provide our students with the skills, technology and knowledge to make a difference in people’s lives, not only now, but well into the next century.

About Us:
Since classes first began in 1957, we have grown into one of Canada’s
premiere science programs. Science at Waterloo is known for excellence in teaching, research and technology transfer.

Research Initiatives:
Waterloo scientists are currently involved in world-class research projects such as breeding food-bearing plants to thrive under a thinning ozone layer, discovering the shapes of protein molecules that cause disease and developing effective ways of erasing toxic chemicals from soil and water.
